not seeing it. generally johnson controls came out and said we continue to have confidence in our full year guidance, even though they said at the first half of the year they won't make as much as last year. there's back end assumptions in some of these companies. but the main earnings themes from these four companies, still on cost reduction. that's what they'll be able to control. the ceo said he's increasingly confident he can meet or exceed financial expectations. i'm still looking for top line growth in these companies. big moves in the asian companies overnight. did you see japan's up there. japan, best day in 22 months, folks. china gdp, better. suncoke open for trading. i mentioned that. down 2% right here at $18.57. japan, again, biggest gains in 22 months. investments there on fire. all the etfs there are getting very large inflows in the last couple of weeks. speaking of inflows, did you see stock mutual funds? inflows for a second week in a row. this is according to lippert here. stock, mutual funds, most since april of 2000. i got excited last week, i'm really interested now, b

landing on the streets here on the southwest side of the thames river. boris johnson the mayor, he said he just went to see the scene. we have not been allowed over there because this investigation is right in the thick of it. and he said that the scenes were so disturbing. he said, you know, there was the wing of the helicopter on top of a roof. there were big pieces of it had fallen on cars which were burned out and the side of a building went up in flames, all of that very quickly extinguished by firefighters in london. mayor johnson said he did not want to be glib for many people are in mourning for the people they lost in this tragic accident but frankly could have been more tragic if that helicopter hit a double-decker bus let's say. this happened in the middle of the city during rush hour. a lot of questions tonight being asked about safety in london. we don't have lots of skyscrapers here but more and more are going up. mayor johnson saying they will be looking very carefully into whether all of that is adequately lit. both cranes and construction sites. he said that for people who

, right? lyndon johnson is getting sworn in on air force one. roosevelt had to go to a house in buffalo. there's one where mckinley died and one where roosevelt was sworn in and he kind of stumbled through it all, yeah i got the oath. so he didn't have his hand on the bible. he said a few words, but he became president. it reminds us that things are sometimes haphazard at inaugurations. we don't get to pre plain like we do for this one. >> president obama's first inauguration drew record crowds. how do you think it will be remembered? >> i have kids who have the place mat and on it you have presidents on it. it's all white faces and now you have the first african-american. man, was that historic. you had people pouring in here electricity in the air. it didn't matter what the speech was that year. it was about the atmospherics. this time around i think the speech the president gives is going to be more important. they're having less balls, less crowds, more enthusiasm. he can make up for that by having words that may some day be carved in marble. >> douglas brinkley.
